Gatepiers and garden walls; piers and wall on north and east of garden probably
1737, south and west walls perhaps c.1900. C18 walls brick in English garden
wall bond 3 & 1, externally coursed rubble, stone coping. Gatepiers ashlar.
South and west walls coursed rubble except for north part of west wall, brick
in Flemish bond.

Tall rusticated piers with attached jambs and moulded caps with pyramid-topped
finials, flanked by former privies; the western is linked to east wing of Acomb
House (q.v.), the eastern to north-west corner of walled garden. Tall wall with
flat coping on north and east, ramped down at south end to boarded door in
surround with re-set C17 moulded jambs. North end of west wall has similar ramp
down to re-set doorway with moulded surround and flattened triangular head with
sunk spandrels. Lower wall to east and south; gateway with small flat-capped
piers near south end of east wall.
