15/42 The Manor House

GV II


Manor house. C17, C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone with C20 plain tile
roof. T-shape plan. 2 storeys with attic. Main front of 3-window range with 2
casements under wood lintels to left and C17 five-light stone mullioned, canted
bay windows to ground and first floor right. Central stone porch with C20 door
has shafts at the angles and is partly built over a C17 two-light stone mullion
window. Central roof dormer. Central ashlar stack with moulded cornice.
Single-unit Cl9 extension attached to left, remodelled C20. Elevation to road
has gable to left and central C19 lean-to porch. C19 single-storey extension to
right with a 3-light stone mullion and transomed window. Interior not inspected.
Originally the Drayton Manor house.
