House. Early C17 core, refaced late C18 and altered C20. Red brick
with remains of timber frame; tiled roof on dentilled eaves course;
centre ridge stack. Two-storey, two-window front; C20 3-light casements.
Entrances to extremities both with C20 doors; C20 additions to left
and right. Closely spaced uprights and tie exposed to right and some
square framing to rear. Interior of No. 5 has double spine beams
to both ground and first floors, ovolo moulded with run-out stops;
exposed joists also chamfered with stepped run-out stops. Sandstone
fire surround and large fireplace beam, chamfered on outer side.
Roof has three closely spaced trusses with tie and diagonal braces
(possibly once supporting a cross wing). Interior of No. 7 not inspected.
