SK 05 SE GRINDON CAWBROOK FARMHOUSE

Farmhouse, now house. Late C17/early C18; remodelled in C19, with date-
stone AD/1843 to front and AD/1896 to west. Coursed limestone rubble with
gritstone dressings; gabled clay tile roof with stone copings; stone end
stacks 3-unit plan with central stairhall. 2 storeys; symmetrical 3-window
range. Flat moulded hood over panelled door. Lintels over C19 two-light
casements with glazing bars. Rear elevation has plain drip stone over east
door and 3 small windows, two with small 4-paned casements and one blocked
with plain stone central mullion. West gable has two 4-pane casements,
that to ground floor in former doorway. Interior stop-chamfered beams,
square-section floor joists and wide oak floorboards.
