Farmhouse, now house. Early-mid C18. Brick in Flemish bond with
stone quoins and dressings, tiled roofs. Two storeys, cellar and
attics. 'L'-plan with mid C19 block in re-entrant angle. Through
hall plan with lateral stair and parlours at ends, services in rear
wing. West facade of 5 bays. Central entrance, a cross boarded
door faced early C19 with panelled frame, within stone bead arrised
surround and stone flat canopy on brackets. Inserted stone
segmental fanlight over. Plat band. Similar stone surrounds with
flat entablature to 12-pane sash windows. Moulded stone eaves.
Two-light earlier C18 gable windows to attic with iron leaded
casements. Two hipped dormers to attic. External stacks at rear
of main rooms. Rear wing on left, single storey and attic, raised
to 2 storeys, 4 bays, with 3 segmental headed windows and early C18
sash in fourth bay. Early C19 twelve-pane casements to south side
of wing and gables.
Interior: Mid C19 fireplaces, but large blocked fireplace in left
parlour, perhaps the original kitchen. Large fireplace, also
blocked, in rear wing, probably an addition. Moulded muntin
panelling in attic landing. Double butt purlin roof. Segmental
brick vaulted cellar for full length of main block. The building
has a raised terrace to the farmyard on north side with a brick
parapet and weathered stone coping.
