House. Mid C16, altered C19 and C20. Timber frame, plastered with some brick .
facing. Steeply pitched pantiled roof. 5 bays or 3 cells. 2 storeys and
attic. A C19 half glazed door towards left, a boarded door to far right. 3
and 6-light C19 glazing bar timber and metal frame casements. Ridge stack to
right of centre. Left gable end is faced in C20 brick with a C19 sash on
first floor. Right gable end has first floor and attic casements, exposed
plates and purlins. Interior: ground floor very close studding, jowled posts
to stop chamfered cross axial binding beams and joists. First floor: curved
tension braces in walling, jowled posts with cranked braces to cambered tie
beams. Queen post roof, jowled posts with cranked braces to collars and to
arcade plates/purlins. Roof originally hipped towards road.
