Buck's Green Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Early C17 right hand cell and rear wing; remainder C18. Timber framed, the facade and left gable end roughcast-rendered, the remainder plastered. Pantiled roof. Main range 2 storeys and attic, of 3-cell form, with a 1½-storey service wing to rear. 3 windows: C19 casements to first floor, mid C20 casements without glazing bars to ground floor. Lobby entrance with mid C20 gabled porch and door. Internal stack with cement-rendered shaft. C18 stack against rear wall of main range, within the service wing. Parlour cell has plain flat joists and original roof with a single row of wind-braced clasped purlins. Remainder of main range beyond stack has thin studding and straight primary braces, the roof with re-used rafters. Some plain joists set flat in service range.
