House, at one time the Joiners Arms inn. C16, renovated c.1972. Timber
framed, smooth rendered, pantiled roof. 2-cell, end chimney type. 2 storeys.
Mid C20 casement windows with diamond-leaded panes. Cross-entry has mid C20
door. Stacks against each gable end, the original to the left. One-storey
lean-to against left gable end. Interior. Largely intact 4-bay frame. Plain
joists in both cells, those in hall partly cut away for a mid C20 stair.
Evidence for axial division in service cell. Service partition has one
original 4-centre arched doorway, the other concealed but said to remain. A
further narrower C16 doorway in the service partition is not original. Good
open fireplace. On upper floor, a blocked gable end window with diamond
mullions. Hall chamber has low tie beam with cranked braces. Wind-braced
side purlin roof, mostly concealed.
