2 houses. C17, in two phases. Timber framed and rendered, thatched roof. 2
cells. 1 1/2 storeys. Various casement windows, mostly C19. No.39 has a
standard mid C20 window to ground floor and one gabled dormer. No.37 has a
plank door, No.39 a semi-glazed 4-panel door. Small pantiled C19 addition to
right, part of No.39. Internal stack with C19 red brick shaft.
Interior. No.37 is in 2 bays: irregular studding, quite widely-spaced; plain
joists set flat. Side purlin roof. No.39 is mid C17 addition with plain
studding and joists. Common rafter roof. Open ground floor fireplace; the
chimney is of stud and plaster, a rare survival.
