Barn to the south of Lodge Farmhouse (formerly listed with Lodge Farmhouse)

Barn. Early C18. Timber-framed and weatherboarded, on a high red brick plinth,
with a corrugated asbestos roof. 5 bays. Full height studs, set flat, and
bisected by long, straight, primary braces. A middle rail has been applied to
the inner side of the frame. Trusses with slightly cambered tie-beams and
long arched braces, some removed. Roof in 10 bays, not corresponding to the
wall bays; 2 rows of slightly-stepped butt purlins, cambered collars, ridge
piece. A lean-to addition along the south side. The barn stands sideways-on
to the road, within the farmyard to the south of the farmhouse.
