House. Early C19 with older core. 2 storeys; irregular form. Main range in
brick, with band, but rendered and colour-washed; C20 plaintiles. Front with
2 short projecting wings; mid C19 bargeboards with foliage designs in relief
to the gable-ends. Small-paned sash windows in deep reveals; the right cross-
wing has a long tripartite small-paned sash window with rounded head; a
Romanesque slit-window in the apex of each gable. Entrance centrally placed
between the 2 wings, beneath a high portico supported on paired Tuscan columns
with enriched necking to the capitals; a half-glazed door in a moulded
surround. To the right of the front, an added section, in matching style and
materials, with a slightly lower roof-line. The south (garden) front has a
projecting gable in the centre with a canted 2-storey bay having 3 windows to
each storey; 6 other windows to each storey on this front, all small-paned
sashes in deep reveals. The bargeboards to the gable-end match those on the
front of the house. At the west end of the range, a much earlier building has
been linked to the main house: 2 storeys, L-shaped form, with a main range and
cross-wing. Timber-framed and rendered with plaintiled roofs. The cross-wing
is jettied along the front and side, with a plain corner post. Early C19
bargeboards with traceried mouchettes and spike finial. An internal chimney-
stack to the main range, with a rebuilt shaft set below the roof-ridge.
Small-paned sash windows in flush frames. To the north of this older
building, a C20 range of extensions and outbuildings, not included in the
listing.
