Farmhouse. C15 to right of stack, the remainder later C16/early C17; the
exterior is later C19. Timber framed, entirely encased in red brick; pantiled
roof. 2 storeys and attic. 2 cell form. 2 windows, inset large-paned sashes
under segmental arches; lobby entrance with mid C20 gabled porch and half-
glazed door. Internal stack. On the ground floor there is a good plank
screen with moulded muntins, probably C16, and exposed chamfered joisting. On
the first floor there is good exposed framing with 2 early blocked mullioned
windows, old floorboarding, some original doors and newel stairs (the attic
stairs rebuilt C19). The earlier end comprises part of a former open hall
house, raised c.0.3m and re-roofed in C18: part of the arched-braced open
truss is still visible on the first floor.
