The best building in Burgess Hill. Timber-framed house, the east front
dated 1566. The timbering with painted brick infilling is exposed in the
north front. Gable at east end with ornamental curved timbers. Casement
windows, some with original diamond panes. Modern bay window on ground floor.
2 storeys and attic. 5 windows. 2 dormers. The east front is faced with
red brick with long and short stone quoins. Casement windows with stone
mullions and dripstones. Gabled projection containing the porch on ground
floor with room over. Stone doorway with pilasters and entablature. Original
door of 16 panels. Horsham slab roof, partly replaced with tiles. The south
front has been altered and added to.
