Farmhouse and attached barn. C17, with C18/early C19 refacing and early/mid C19
front range and alterations. House: Partly timber framed, faced with brick, and
brick front range; brick dentil cornices. Front range has slate roof; wing has
tile roof; brick stacks. Barn: Timber framed with brick infill. Tile roof. House
L-plan; Front of two builds. 2 storeys; 3-window range. 6-panelled door with
panelled intrados and moulded wood surround. Arched trellis porch. Sashes.
Single 16-pane sash to left of ground floor has rendered rusticated flat arch
with keyblocks. First-floor sashes have painted wood lintels. Hipped roof with
internal stack and roof continued down on right. Right return side 3-window
range. Left section 2 storeys, one-window range. Right section one storey and
attic with dormers. Diagonally set brick dentils. C19 plank door. C19 wood and
iron casements with glazing bars. Two C18/early C19 leaded casements on ground
floor. Door and ground-floor windows under cambered brick arches. Interior: Rear
wing has some exposed timber framing. Open fireplace. Front range has straight
flight staircase and 6-panelled doors. Barn has square framing. 3 bays. Plank
doors; doorway possibly altered on yard side. End wall has jowled posts.
Interior: Jowled posts. Diagonal braces and retaining walls. Queen strut roof.
C18/C19 shelter sheds attached at right angles. Brick with brick dentil cornice,
and brick pillars with plank infill to front. Tile roof. Interior retains hay
racks.
