Former stable and coach house to Northgate House (qv), now
converted to a dwelling. C18. Red brick front; the walls of a
long rear wing have a mixture of random stone blocks; fully
hipped plantiled roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; standing back from the street within a
walled former stable yard. 4 windows to the upper storey, all
2-light small-paned C20 casements. On the ground storey, 2
pairs of double doors and a wide C20 entrance door in a hipped
plaintiled porch. High ramped walls are attached to each end
of the front and extend across the street frontage: these are
in a blend of Tudor and later brick and random stone blocks;
stone copings.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
The walls along the street are faced with red brick laid in
English Bond; a wide entrance is flanked by square red brick
gate piers with stone dressings.
