Formerly part of Castell Madoc estate, part of it said to have been an estate counting-house. The arrangement of chimneys and doors suggests that it may have been two houses. In 1926 directory as Castle Madoc Arms, run by Mrs Phoebe Phelan.

Three storeys, four bays to W, canted single-bay NW corner, with canted hipped NW corner to roof. Hornless sashes, 6-pane square top windows, 12-pane below, with stone lintels and tooled stone sills. W front has three bays between the chimneys and one to left. Left bay has a blank window each floor over door with 4-pane overlight.
