History

Drinking fountain, presumably of 1900, the date of park, but looking later C19.

Exterior

Small cast iron drinking fountain on square concrete plinth. Fountain is c. 5'' (c17cm) high, with quatrefoil short shaft set in concrete, then short round shaft with 4 small dishes between brackets, then neck-ring under octagonal section with rosettes and spigots. This carries base of a curious finial with 4 thick scrolled branches, fluted ball, and further smaller ball on shaft above.

Reasons for Listing

Included as a piece of decorative late Victorian cast-iron work. Part of a reletively complete urban park of C1900.
