History

Golden Grove is a substantial Elizabethan mansion built in 1578 by Edward Morgan. The present terraced garden in front of the house was laid out by Lady Aberconway, whose father purchased Golden Grove in 1877.

Exterior

L-shaped freestone steps in 2 straight flights, with plain parapet and flat copings. At the lower end the parapets return outwards to terminal square piers in front of the wider lower 2 steps.

Reasons for Listing

Listed, together with the upper steps, primarily for its contribution to the setting of the house.
