Golden Grove is a substantial Elizabethan mansion built in 1578 by Edward Morgan. The present terraced garden in front of the house was laid out by Lady Aberconway, whose father purchased Golden Grove in 1877.
A straight flight of freestone steps, which has a stone parapet with moulded saddleback coping and terminates at the top with plain square piers. At the lower end it is flanked by attached rubble-stone revetment walls.
Listed, together with the lower steps, primarily for its contribution to the setting of the house.
