History

An early C19 Mostyn Estate farmhouse shown on the 1839 Tithe map.

Exterior

A 2-storey 3-window house of rubble stone with slate roof and stacks to the R end and L of centre. The openings, all beneath segmental stone heads, are set between the stacks (the Tithe map shows farm buildings abutting the L side of the house, explaining why the openings are offset to the R), and comprise horizontal-sliding sash windows in the upper storey, and triple horizontal-sliding sash windows in the lower storey flanking the central doorway with replaced door. At the L end is an added projecting porch. The L gable end has a lean-to, above which is a sliding sash window under a segmental head. To the 3-window rear is an added gabled porch and replaced small-pane windows in enlarged earlier openings, except upper L which has an original segmental-headed opening.

Reasons for Listing
