Probably a late C17 house and one of the earliest farmhouses in the district to have been built with a near symmetrical front. A rear wing was added in the third quarter of the C19 and is first shown on the 1871 Ordnance Survey.
A 2-storey 4-window house of rendered walls, partly battered, and slate roof with rendered brick stacks to the ends and R of centre. The front has a gabled porch R of centre with replaced door and small side windows. It is flanked by 2-light mullioned windows (a further window at the L end is blocked and only visible from inside). In the upper storey are 4-pane sash windows at the ends and 2 narrower windows in the centre. In the R gable end is an inserted 2-light casement, behind which is a flat-roofed projection, which is also built against a gabled single-storey rear wing on the R side of the house. On the R side of the rear wing is a 2-light mullioned window and a 4-pane sash window at the R end. The upper has sash windows similar to the front.
The house has a lobby entry plan. The hall immediately L has a timber lintel to the fireplace, with a bread oven. The hall and parlour, now a single room, have simple joist-beam ceilings. The hall has window seats.
Listed as a C17 house retaining early plan form and detail.
