History

Gates and railings to Baptist chapel of 1878 by George Morgan. The cast-iron railings are exceptionally ornate and are probably from the foundry of W. A. Baker of Newport, Mon.

Exterior

Exceptionally ornate cast-iron railings on a rock-faced stone wall with ashlar coping and gatepiers. Rails are to a roundel pattern repeated more ornately in the big double gates.

Reasons for Listing

Included for its special interest as exceptionally ornate later C19 cast-iron work, and for group value with the chapel.
