Built probably together with the other farm buildings and the farmhouse in the early C19.
The farmhouse is separated from its farmyard access by a stone wall which ends with the stone wall along the roadside, interrupted by openings to the farmyard and the farmhouse, each with a pair of stone piers with hemispherical tops. The stone wall ends to the S at the piggery, which consists of a pair of sties with a slate roof, and openings to approximately square stone-walled runs projecting into the farmyard, and a third at the N end, probably for the farm dog, also with a square run. The S wall of the pigsties extends to form the S wall of the farmyard, with an opening in the SW corner to a walled driftway curving away to the SW, and another, probably later and wider opening.
Included as part of a virtually complete small planned farmstead group of the early C19.
