Probably built in the late C18 or early C19 to serve the gentry house.
Built of stone rubble, with buttered joints, and an old irregular slate roof. Two storeys. Two large openings for carriages or gigs, each with timber lintels and boarded doors, and door to stair to the stable lads' accommodation on the upper floor. Stable door and window to left, and above three small 2-paned windows below the eaves. Gable stack, and the gable end nearest the house raised with a gabled bellcote. Part of the original cobbled yard survives in front.
Included as an important adjunct to Ty Iocws, and part of the group of service buildings forming a yard at the N end of the house.
