History

Second-quarter C19 coach house built to serve the adjacent Cyffdy hall; this predates the mid-Victorian coach-house range adjoining the main house.

Exterior

Long coach house range of whitened rubble with slate roof hipped to the N; tiled ridges. Northern cart entrance with depressed arch, recessed slatestone voussoirs and projecting keystone; boarded double doors. The long western side has a C19 16-pane sash window to the L with recessed slate lintel. Beyond, a later C19 brick infill section with large tripartite 18-pane sliding sash. To the R of this a plain boarded entrance. Later C19 2-bay addition to far R, continuously-roofed with the primary section, though with slightly taller walls; 2 large, partly-glazed 8-pane windows with slatestone lintels. A later pair of plain rubble gate piers adjoins the building to the W at the front, simple iron gates.

Interior

The interior was not inspected at the time of survey (2/97).
