Mid C19 village shop.
Whitewashed roughcast with hipped slate roof and roughcast N end stack ( S end stack removed). Roof has flat eaves and is chamfered at SE angle. Two storeys, main three-window E front, narrow chamfered-off SE angle, and two-bay S side. 12-pane hornless sashes. Stucco plinth, band between floors, and angle strip on N end. E front has ground floor centre flat-roofed porch with double half-glazed doors and overlight, between roughcast piers with stucco caps and plinths. Narrow windows in side walls. Early C20 photographs show a slate hipped porch on two timber chamfered posts. 12-pane sash to right, and big square 20-pane shop window to left. Windowless N end. Chamfered SE angle has "Llanwnen Post Office" in raised letters on ground floor and 12-pane sash above. S side has roughcast flat porch (formerly with hipped slate roof) with double doors to right, centre similar 20-pane shop window and post-box to ground floor left (in infilled window), with 12-pane sash to first floor above. Similar angle strip at left angle.
Listed as a good mid C19 house still in late Georgian style, in very prominent position on cross-roads. The survival of original shop windows is especially unusual.
