Early C19 cast iron mile marker, triangular in plan, rising to a sloping top against a half-round backplate. Raised lettering reading:
On left: BLUE BELL 3-M CHURCHSTOKE4-M;
On right: KERRY 4-M NEWTOWN 7-M;
Around the backplate: BISHOPS CASTLE 9-M.
Included as a well preserved mile marker from the re-marking out of the road from Churchstoke to Newtown by the turnpike trust in the early C19.
