History

C17; possibly contemporary with the remodelling of the earliest part of the Old farmhouse and the building of the barn. Its function is unclear but it may have been a bakehouse, or even a secondary dwelling house for and extended family or farm workers.

Exterior

Probably C17 or early C18. Small single storey 2-bay rubble stone building with a corrugated iron roof. Diamond mullioned window and dripstone to the opening right of off-centre entrance. Internally, there is a tie beam roof truss, original wall plates, and chimney to the uphill end with salt cupboards.

Reasons for Listing

Included for group value with Old Gwrlodde farmhouse and barn, as part of this good farmyard group at Gwrlodde.
