The house was added to as in the description, the join in the wall and roof can be seen to the left of the middle chimney.
My father Ffrangcon Lloyd LRIBA (1909-1969) with my mother Monica first rented in 1945, and subsequently bought the house. When they first saw it it was derelict and used as a barn, they spent what they could afford to bring it back to livable, when my father died, the upkeep was too much for my mother, and it was sold. Subsequent owners have changed the house and grounds considerably.

I believe that Ty Isaf (lower house) was one of the main farms on the Penbedw estate, but the farmland was passed to Ty Uchaf (upper house), and now has just over an acre of land.
