Circa 1905. Single storey rectangular-plan piend-roofed pavilion. Lathed timber on concrete base. Verandah to NW elevation with catslide roof, 5 bays with tree trunk columns (1 replaced in smooth timber) with capitals; boarded soffit to verandah and red granite flooring; simple bracketed bench. Doors to pavilion to outer bays, panelled with hopper fanlights; windows to centre bays. Tripartite window to SW return. Blank rear.
Multi-pane top hoppers over fixed astragalled windows. Red-painted slates and decorative clay ridge tiles and finials; ventilator at centre.
Facing the former curling pond. The tree trunk form of the verandah echoes the earlier example at the Garden Cottage, Balmoral Castle, and various porches on the Balmoral and Birkhall estates.
A good summary example of sports ancillary on the estate, picking up estate livery in its detailing, and a marker of a sport forced to artificial rinks in the face of climate change.
