(Please note that the lovely Victorian Gothic house in Winnipeg, called "Dalnavert", which is now a museum, run by the Manitoba Historical Society, was owned by Hugh John Macdonald, Sir John's second son from his first marriage. It was not Sir John's home. You might wish to "Google" Hugh John Macdonald and Dalnavert in order to correct your information...and, the house in Alvie was built in the eighteenth century and not the nineteenth.
