AA Sentry Box (No 472), Cambus O'May

A Category C Listed Building in Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside, Aberdeenshire

Still The Work Continues

Uploader's Comments

Work on box 472 continues.

The box was 'listed' and 'protected' but despite these fancy descriptions this exceptional example of social history was destined to a very certain 'death' if action was not taken immediately.

Thanks to the volunteers from the village of Ballater (at their own cost and time)Box 472,hopefully, will provide memories of days gone by for many more years yet.

The box is the only AA box remaining within the Cairngorms National Park, the box receives many tourists from around the world due to its location to Royal Deeside and the area's links with the British Royal family.

The box now contains a 'mini' museum' with unique linked photographs and a visitors book contained within the box itself.
