Description

Earlier 19th century, altered at ground late 20th century. 2-storey and attic, 3-bay (above ground) dwelling with shops at ground and nepus gable. Rock-faced ashlar with raised margins. Eaves course.

N (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: centre bay at ground with corniced and pilastered doorway, deep-set panelled timber door and multi-pane margined fanlight, flanking modern shops. Centre bay at 1st floor with irregular tripartite window (centre light blocked) and further single windows to outer bays, nepus gable rising from centre bay flanked by modern rooflights.

Plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows to 1st floor, modern glazing to nepus. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks with some cans; ashlar-coped skews.

Statement of Interest

Listed (despite out-of-character modern shop fronts) for quality of traditional 1st floor and group value with Nos 7-19 High Street.
