Early 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay classical villa with single storey wing to right. Squared painted sandstone. Base course; 1st floor cill course; eaves course; cornice; blocking course; pilaster quoins.
NW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central fluted columned doorpiece; mutuled cornice; block-pediment; boarded square-headed entrance; single window aligned above at 1st floor. Flanking single windows at both floors. Tripartite window to single storey wing to right.
SW (SIDE) ELEVATION: blind openings at 1st floor to outer left and right of main house; square-headed entrance to lean-to attached to single storey wing.
SE (REAR) ELEVATION: off-centre square-headed entrance; central stair window; 2 single windows flanking; additional circular opening to left of stair window. Single window to single storey wing to left.
NE ELEVATION: not seen 1999.
Boarded windows. Piended slate roof; wallhead stacks; circular and polygonal cans. Cast-iron rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen 1999.
Marked as Burnside on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map, 1858. A fine symmetrical villa, retaining much original detailing.
