Description

Late 19th century. Rectangular-plan greenhouse. Sandstone base; timber and iron glazed frame. Steps to entrances to each elevation (glazed pedimented entrances to NW and SE); piended glazed roof with upper piended section; lantern-ridge; iron finials.

INTERIOR: tiled interior pathways; decorative iron spandrels.

Statement of Interest

B-Group with 57 Doonfoot Road (North Lodge), South Lodge, South Lodge Bridge crossing Slaphouse Burn, Belleisle House Hotel and Walled Garden (see separate listings). A well proportioned greenhouse lying outwith the walled garden at Belleisle (see separate list description). Of particular interest are the tiled interior pathways and decorative spandrel ironwork. Replaces earlier shallow domed greenhouse (see References).
