Statement of Interest

Cottages to Dalhousie Mains (see separate listing). Formerly 3 cottages to each block. The pitch of the roof, the very low walls to front and back, and the wide spacing/small size of the windows all suggest that these cottages were built in the 18th century. Red pantiles have been found near the cottages, suggesting that at one time they were the roofing material, it is also possible that the roofs were originally thatched. The gabled windows are probably enlarged 4-pane windows resulting from 19th century improvements.
