A picturesque, slightly off-centred cottage set on the outskirts of, and still associated with, the Bughtrig estate (see separate list entry, Bughtrig House). The 1858 Ordnance Survey map marks the cottage as a school. Despite an addition to rear, the majority of original features remain intact.
