Sir Frank Mears & Partners, in collaboration with Stirling Burgh Architect, conceived 1938, realised post-war, circa 1955. 2-storey, 3-bay terraced tenement with shops at ground, squared and snecked sandstone with ashlar margins, ashlar at ground, N elevation harled, eaves band.
S (BAKER STREET) ELEVATION: 2 identical shops at ground, each with door recessed to left and shop window to right, windows to left, right and right of centre at 1st floor.
N ELEVATION: bipartite to centre at ground, flanked by windows, small window to centre at 1st floor flanked by windows.
UPVC tilt and turn windows, grey slates, stack in W gable, ,
B Group with Nos 52 and 54, 60, 62, 70 and 72, 74, 76, 78 Baker Street. Part of a wider development in a modern traditional essay in Scottish burgh design, Stirling?s municipal equivalent of Edinburgh?s earlier work by MacRae.
