Later 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay classical style rectangular-plan building with shop at ground floor. Painted render. Decorative consoles to shopfront cornice; cill course to 1st floor windows; thin coupled pilasters divide bays at 1st floor; banded rustication between pilasters; dentilled cornice; corniced parapet; sunken panels to dies; stalk-topped ball finials on pedestals aligned above dies.
N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central entrance to modern shopfront at ground floor; entrance to outer left. Regular fenestration at 1st floor.
Textured square-paned glazing to 3 sets of 6-block windows at 1st floor (louvres to upper section of central bay). Roof (unseen 1997).
INTERIOR: not seen 1997.
A distinctive example of later 19th century commercial urban architecture, adjacent to the George Hotel (see separate list description). Of particular note are the decorative consoles to the shop cornice and the stalk-topped ball finials to the parapet.
