Description

Dated 1875. Baroque cast-iron fountain set in a roughly squared and snecked sandstone wall with rounded coping. FOUNTAIN: shouldered, round-arched niche, with date embossed near top to back wall, and handle; basin beneath. Flamboyant upper surround with instrument- playing cherubs flanking in foliage and mask-head to centre above.

Statement of Interest

This is a fine example of the type and shows the wealth of the Blackadder estate and the surrounding region.
