Mid 19th century with later additions and alterations. 2-storey 3-bay terraced house. Cement-rendered with whinstone and sandstone rubble to S gablehead and to part of W elevation. Base course; rusticated quoins; Tudor hoodmoulds to each opening.
E (STREET) ELEVATION: bays grouped 1-2, modern panelled door to near centre bay with letterbox fanlight; window at 1st floor above. Window to each flanking bay.
W ELEVATION: not seen fully, 1996. Single storey addition in bay to right. Modern timber-frame glazing. Slate roof. Brick mutual stacks. Coped ashlar skews with skewputt to S.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1996.
The house has been much altered in recent years and is listed because of its inextricable link with Smithy Cottage to S, with which it closes an irregular terrace.
