Statement of Interest

The house was initially used as a tailor's shop and manufactory. The tailors would work in the loft space of the single storey section of the building, now used as a garage (1996). This company, Michelmas, was set up before that of A Brunton and Son and WM Purves and Co. The main house was possibly originally single storey with the additional storey being added in late 19th century. There is a rectangular-plan rubble stable and hay loft in garden to rear.
