Campbell, Douglas and Stevenson, 1865. 2-storey and 3-storey rambling- plan villa, now roofless and in poor condition. Stugged squared and snecked sandstone with ashlar margins and dressings. Base course, moulded eaves course; crowstepped gables.
SW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: asymmetrical long range; main block with broad gable to right, single storey canted block to outer right. Ruskinian gothic detailing to crowstepped gabled porch advanced to left, main round-arched entrance, shouldered arch on returns, crowstepped gable, blind arrowloop in gablehead; flanking windows at ground, dormerhead above; similar arrangement of windows in 3 bay lower block to left; terminating crowstepped gable with jettied chimney stack. 3-bay wing slighltly advanced to outer left, bipartite window at ground to right, single windows at ground floor bays to left; dormerheads at upper floor symmetrically disposed.
N (GARDEN) ELEVATION: 3-storey, 5-bay main block with later now incomplete lower block to outer left; modern flat-roofed build extending outwards at ground floor. Stugged sandstone with ashlar margins, roll-moulded eaves course stepped for architraves. Tall canted block advanced to outer left, corbelled to square at 2nd floor, gable demolished; 3 windows at ground; corbelled chamfered corners flanking bipartite to principal floor; single window at 2nd floor. Square tower bay to right, bipartite at ground, pilastered and corniced window with Jacobethan strapwork pediment at 1st floor, solid pilastered balcony; bipartite above; corbel course. 2 symmetrical bays to right, ground floor masked by modern addition, tall dormerheaded windows at upper floor. Large corbelled turret to outer right. Single storey block advanced to outer right, canted window at centre, plaque raised over.
All windows missing; remains of plate glass sash and case windows. Roofless.
