Early 19th century with later additions and alterations. 2-storey with attic, 7-bay terraced tenement (terminating terrace) with shops at ground. Painted line-render; pebbledash to NE elevation. Base course, eaves course.
SE (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: irregularly disposed bays (3-2-2). Centre bays with modern glazed door in bay to left, plate glass letterbox fanlight, window at 1st floor above; shop window at ground of bay to right, window at 1st floor. Bays to left with panelled door to centre, plate glass letterbox fanlight, window at 1st floor; panelled door at ground in bay to right, plate glass letterbox fanlight above, window at 1st floor above; shop window at ground in bay to left, window at 1st floor. Bays to right, closely grouped, with partly glazed door in bay to left with plate glass letterbox fanlight, window at 1st floor; shop window at ground in bay to right, window at 1st floor.
NW ELEVATION: small addition to outer right of No 55.
Plate glass timber sash and case windows, except plate glass fixed-pane shop windows at ground and plate glass swing windows at 1st floor in bays to centre. Slate roof with harled and coped mutual stacks. Half-piended tripartite dormers to outer 2-bay groups.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1995.
The dormers date from after the 1920s.
