Circa 1840. 2-storey, 3-bay symmetrical rectangular-plan plain classical house. Squared and snecked yellow rubble sandstone; polished surrounds to openings; droved long and short rubble quoins. Projecting polished cills to both floors. Random rubble side and rear elevations.
W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: timber panelled door to central bay; decorative diamond-paned fanlight above; stugged long and short stone surround. Flanking single windows to ground floor; regularly fenestrated at 1st floor.
12-pane timber sash and case windows to all openings. Grey slate roof in diminishing courses. Stone skews; coped droved sandstone apex stacks with circular cans.
INTERIOR: not seen 1996.
BOUNDARY WALL: coped rubble wall to Newhaven Road; replacement railings. Tall random rubble wall to W.
Recent extensive stone cleaning to entrance elevation. Originally stood adjacent to Northfield House and Estate (demolished and developed as the Dudley Estate from the late 1880s).
