Description

Later 18th century with later additions. 3-storey and attic 3-bay former house. Droved cream sandstone ashlar. Modern shop built out at ground. Late 19th century timber addition built out at 1st floor with 3 large canted windows and bracketed fascia. Original 2nd floor with eaves cornice and blocking course. Pair of piend-roofed tripartite dormers (that to left slightly larger).

Timber sash and case plate glass windows to 2nd floor. Grey slates.

INTERIOR: redeveloped as retail premises.

Statement of Interest

Listed at Category B as a significant surviving part of the original fabric of Edinburgh?s New Town, one of the most important and best preserved examples of urban planning in Britain.
