Large walled garden, probably late 18th century. Stone coped buttressed brick walls, lower on S and part of E and W walls, with cart gate in S wall and lintelled cart entry in N wall, both central. Arched doorways in centre of E and W walls with rotting wrought iron gates. Detached glass-house range towards N, with central section having fine glazing bars, side sections heavier. Harled lean-to potting shed and store range back to back with glasshouse range, with venetian windows at ends and off-centre chimney stack. 2-storey 3-bay gardener's cottage in NW corner, harled, with cill band. 12-pane sash and case windows to left and right, 12-pane deadlight at centre above blocked doorway. Modern doorway and porch to right. Corrugated asbestos roof, gable chimney stacks.

Statement of Interest

Cally House remodelled 1835. Garden probably earlier. Use of brick on this scale unusual in region.
