Style of Wardrop and Reid or Peddie and Kinnear, dated 1868. Single storey and attic picturesque villa. Squared and snecked stugged sandstone with polished ashlar dressings, timber sash and case windows, overhanging eaves with timber barge boards and bracketed eaves, king-post detail to gables. Graded grey slates, ashlar banded and corniced stacks.
W ELEVATION: lean-to slated porch at ground floor with gabled dormer, door in re-entrant to S. Original lean-to conservatory to N. Large shouldered wallhead stack above, single window to attic to right breaking eaves in gabled dormer with finial.
N ELEVATION: bipartite to left with 1st floor window above breaking eaves in gabled dormer with finial. Advanced, gabled bay to right, canted at ground floor with 5-light window, corbelled to square at 1st floor with bipartite.
E ELEVATION: later canted window at ground, dormer to 1st floor above. Single storey service wing adjoining to S with central door and bipartites flanking.
GATEPIERS AND GARDEN WALLS: to Kirkbrae, pair of corniced panelled ashlar gatepiers, pedestrian gate to right with stone lintel, adjoining rubble coped rubble garden walls.
GREENHOUSE: to E of house, cast-iron and timber, with cast-iron finialled roof ridge, retaining original coloured glass.
SUMMERHOUSE: circa 1900 to NW of house, picturesque timber, lead-roofed rustic summerhouse ornamented with cut logs and painted green, finials, coloured glass to windows.
FOUNTAIN: on lawn in front of house, boy with vase, white painted on plinth.
