Description

Earlier 19th century. Single storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan cottage. Sandstone ashlar. Base course, blocking course; pilaster quoins.

MAIN ELEVATION: pilastered and depressed pedimented door at centre, modern 2-leaf boarded door, plate glass fanlight; flanking windows.

Modern multipaned windows. Grey slate roof, ashlar coping to skews; small corniced apex stacks.

BOUNDARY WALL AND RAILINGS: low boundary plinth wall, cast-iron railings.

Statement of Interest

Argyle Cottage is listed as one of the few early buildings in Renton. It would benefit from the reinstatement of its original windows.
