Late 18th century. 2-storey 3-bay house. Sandstone rubble with bull-faced and lined concrete render to N, S and E elevations. Bays grouped closely on E elevation, with door at centre, flanked by windows (enlarged to timber mullioned bipartites); original windows retained in each bay at 1st floor. Rear elevation with 1st floor windows, as above. N and S gabled elevations each with small windows retained, widely spaced, and with attic window in gablehead.
4-pane glazing patterns predominating in sash and case windows.
Scrolled skewputts; brown pantiles; end stacks.
Rendered and rubble walls adjoined to W and N of the house, linking with Public House to W. Listed B despite the unfortunate render and bipartite windows, for the survival of its basic late 18th century form and majority of orignal openings, and for its strategic island position, indicating the layout of the 18th century burgh.
